    Mackinnon is worth it. He could have gotten more honestly.. but this contract will age so fucking good in the coming years as the salary cap exceeds 90mil and above.

    Keep mind guys, this is basically just 300k more than carrying Mackinnons current contract and Erik Johnson’s contract.. it’s fucking incredible that Johnson comes off the books next year and could sign a sweetheart deal like 2-3mil.

29. Man I’m not gonna lie I got some goosebumps and teared up a little when I saw the news.

    This now means (if there was any doubt prior) #29 is going in the rafters, and there’s an extremely good chance he’s going to retire as an Avalanche, same as we did for Landy.

    We are witnessing something really special here folks.

46. Not surprising. With Erik Johnson’s contract expiring this season ($6M), that free cap space is being used to sign Mackinnon. This is exactly what I expected. The only thing that surprised me is how it took this long to extend him
