It sure felt like they squandered one more shot in the end zone on that drive to end the half. A field goal was great, but they were rolling, I think that maybe a touchdown was on the table too.

I’m thinking more and more about it. In the second half, they didn’t score- but they didn’t have to. They controlled the ball, and basically wore down the Vikings’ defense and just ran the clock out.
Which is just about as disheartening as a score say 31-7. They completely took the wind out of the opposition’s sails. I think the Vikings D got lucky with the blocked kick. But the defense shut down anything the Vikings tried to do. So it didn’t matter.
It was pretty beautiful to watch.

We need a hammer, a battering ram, a big ass bruiser who can kill the other team in the second half. The Blount and Ajay combo won us a ton of games.

My wife and I were sitting in the stands last night when Sirianni took the time out with 38 seconds left. My wife says, “why did they take a time out THERE?”
I thought for a second and said to her “Because Sirianni thinks they’re going to score again.”
THAT GLORIOUS BASTARD!
He got heat for giving up play calling, but clearly Steichen can do it at a high level, that frees himself up to make sure things like time management are done well. Big ego coaches try to do it all and fail, good coaches too, see Andy Reid
