  1. Is there a methodology on this to help you determine that this is representative of most Texans fans?

  2. I think most of us here would say… Ys, headed in the right direction, yes defense got better. offense did not (but the argument for is Green and Pierce.)

  3. I think we have good pieces but the staff needs to change. Lovie’s defense is clearly not the answer based on the players we have, and as of now the jury is still out on Pep as OC. It’s gonna depend on if Caserio has the guts to move on from Lovie and hire a coach Mills or whichever QB we draft can grow with. The pieces are almost there, it’s just a matter of finding the right guys calling the shots.

  4. I’ve been kinda down on Mills and the offense since last game but I think we’ve improved since last year. I also think we’re headed in the right direction.

I don’t think pointing to Mills’ bad play is indicative of how I feel about the direction we’re headed. I trust Caserio. He’s more cut throat than people recognize. I don’t think he’ll sit back with below average QB play and ignore it.

Any GM that was willing to trade Gronk or make plans to replace TB12 has the balls to replace Mills if he doesn’t work out.

  5. I think the defense has made a lot of progress this year, they just are gassed by the 4th qtr because the offense can’t sustain anything. Mills has been disappointing so far as has the rest of the offense

  6. Lol people have got to let things play out. The defense has improved with Lovie. They are embracing the bend don’t brake mentality. We just need the offense to get less 3 and outs so they can get more rest and not be gassed at the end. For the offense Minus center I’ve been pleased with OL play. If you watched the bills yesterday the line looked great because he had that ball out in under 2 seconds all game. Mills is holding the ball too long which isn’t helping. I know it doesn’t happen much since we let go of Kub but would love to see some more zone block run schemes. The way pierce is running after contact let him pick his hole and drive.

  7. OP it is not a contradiction to think this team is bad, the QB is bad, the coach just isn’t good enough, and that there are holes everywhere but also think things are clearly going in the right direction… e.g. the team will get better, the QB will be replaced, the coach will get replaced, and the holes are getting filled

  8. I’m not really sure why you wouldn’t be excited about the future. Mills probably sucks. But the defense and talent as a whole on the roster has improved dramatically. This looks (cup of salt) to be the second straight draft Caserio has crushed. The defense is absolutely supremely talented and if the offense can sustain even a little farther down the line in the season there’s gonna be some winnable games here. Whether you would like that or not for the outlook on the future is another thing.

  9. You can see the offense is upgraded from last year, but because it’s a new system you’ll see growing pains vs the defense who is carrying over from last year.

We probably set unrealistic expectations for the offense out the gate, come the end of the season we can judge it on the entire body of work.
