  1. 34 innings with just one manfred run vs Luis Cessa, Hunter Greene and Mike Clevinger. One extra base hit since the 3rd inning of the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday. Second time this season this offense has just completely disappeared.

  2. I know I know the division lead is fine and this game didn’t really matter. But holy shit this offense has got to figure it out.

#AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP HITTING DICK BEFORE ALBERT.

  3. So much for playing up to our opponents’ level. Everyone with fewer than 698 home runs needs to get it going

  4. You win some, you lose some, you peak, you slump.

We’re still in 1st place and we have Albert chasing 700 so I have nothing to complain about. See y’all tomorrow night!

  5. 1 run in 34 innings and even that one in the 11 inning game was mostly luck. I’m not sure if I’ve even seen the offense sink this much this late into the season and so quickly.

  6. Maybe the Cardinals are playing bad on purpose so other teams have worthless scouting reports when it comes playoff time.

  7. Damn like 3 weeks ago this felt like a World Series offense, not in overall quality per se, but in that it felt like we had a ton of different guys who could step up and provide big moments, but right now it has revealed itself to be the Goldy and Nado show. If they’re good, then everyone else is. If not, it’s just a hodge podge of role players like Dickerson, Edman, and Albert having random hot streaks, and then a bunch of young guys.

  8. In spite of everything, as a Cardinals fan I would like to thank our pitching coach, Greg Maddux, for coaching the pitching. Had he not coached the pitching, the pitching would have been uncoached. And as we all know, uncoached pitching can be worse than coached pitching. So, I am thankful that Greg has been there all year so that the pitching could have a coach.

  9. How did this team so quickly go from top in the league to holy crap can we can’t even squeak a run across. The entire team just went dormant all at once

  10. Since Molina hit a 2 run Homer off Minor in the 3rd inning against Cincinnati (aka the last time the Cards scored an ER)

    16-112; 12 BB; 25 K (15 singles, 1 double)

    1-18 w/RISP (did not score a run); 0 RBI

    5 GIDP; 25 LOB

    1 Run (Manfred runner)

(I’m just reading the box scores, my numbers could be off, idk)

  11. Very disappointing. I was hoping for our typical September devil magic. If this is how we play against post season contending teams I don’t think it’s looking good right now folks.

This team does surprise the fuck out of everyone on a regular basis though. Can we make that now please boys thanks

  12. This is the second time the Cardinals have been shutout in back-to-back games this season. Last time was against the Phillies in July.

Prior to that, the Cardinals hadn’t been shutout in back-to-back games *ONCE* in a season since 2015.

  13. Albert was 2 for 3 tonight with a walk. Everyone else was 3 for 28 with 5 K’s. Two of those three hits came from Goldy and Arenado.

  14. Edman SS

    Pujols DH

    Goldschmidt 1B

    Arenado 3B

    Carlson RF

    Yepez LF

    Donovan 2B

    Knizner C

    DeLuzio CF

I want to see a whole new outfield tomorrow. Dick, Burleson and Noot are not hitting, I want to see what these other guys can do.

  15. Some recent offensive stretches from players not named Goldy, Arenado, or Pujols:

Nootbaar: 0 for his last 6, and 3 for 35 over the last 15 games

Dickerson: 3 for his last 25

    Donovan: 0 for his last 9 with 4 K’s. 4 for 21 over the last 7 games.

Burleson: 4 for 24 (all singles, where’s the power? We have enough singles hitters)

DeJong: 7 for his last 65

  16. I think there is something of a let down because they’ve basically won the division with such a big lead over the brewers.

  17. This has been a brutal few games but tbh I’d rather have this now then in two weeks. We’re pretty much locked in to where we are going to be playoff-wise. They’re still playing 500 baseball and really this is the worst they are capable of playing all around. I think there is a possibility that we scuffle for a little while, but if everyone is at the bottom of the curve offensively then that means when they do come out of it, it will be all together. These hitters have all proven capable, and slumps happen… so I’m on the side of the boys are going to figure it out at some point before the playoffs. If they’re going to struggle I’d rather it be this week, with the potential of breaking out before the postseason. That’s my glass half full take.
