Was watching film from Sunday and noticed a few trends, one of which being our inability to recognize bootlegs/counters. Here a just a few examples.

  1. Interesting find. So correct me if im wrong, we Rodney McLeod, Yannick Ngakoue and Tyquan Lewis as the offenders in this video?

My goodness Ngakoue just looks lost and effortless in these clips. Lol

  2. I mean honestly after these first 2 games, the reason that we were so bad at literally almost every single aspect of the game, is because there was nothing at all we could do consistently to lean on at any point. It’s like a feedback loop, and the worse a team plays can result in good players making uncharacteristic mistakes. Football is not always, but mostly is a very momentum based game. Teams can claw back and create impressive and historic come from behind victories, but thats never a position a team wants to be at at any point where they are constantly relying on comebacks to win games. I don’t think for the next 15 games that we are actually going to be this same type of team we have been for the past 2 games, even if we don’t end up having a good season like some of the more optimistic people on here think. I am not going full nuclear meltdown after 2 awful games, but I am definitely not writing the season off either like other morons on this sub have done lately

  3. It’s not quite this simple. In many schemes/on many plays there are players who look like they should be playing backside contain but it’s not actually their responsibility. It just depends on the play. So we can’t just totally assume Ngakoue is dropping the ball every time.

I totally agree that we aren’t handling counter plays properly, but without inside knowledge about the play call, it’s tough to know who that is or why it’s happening.
