  1. The weather is not looking good right now which would be a big deal for Ohtani because his last start is scheduled for the last day of the season. If today gets rained out he misses that start and a possible chance to hit 162 innings for pitcher eligibility stats. Only way to avoid that is if he goes 7 innings in each of his final 2 starts or he pitches the final game on 4 days rest which he’s never done in MLB.

  2. “Everybody is very overhyping Ohtani to the point that he will be a disappointment when he comes to the majors.”

“There have been plenty of international players given this same label who turned out only average to good once they came to America. The MLB is a different animal.”

“It’s shitty, but I almost want him to be terrible, cause I’m a vindictive asshole who’s tired of hearing him called the best in the world without ever playing against Major League talent.“

These were the type of comments you typically saw before Ohtani decided to come here and play in MLB.

The sad thing is, only just after 1 full season of him playing at an elite level as a two way player and unanimously winning AL MVP, some people are starting to downplay him and his performances, and calling him overrated… again.

It’s obscene how cynical and hateful some of these baseball “fans” can be. The way people just got tired of Trout and Ohtani so quickly after winning their first MVP is just ridiculous.
