  1. I don’t think our window is that short. Maybe if everyone who’s a free agent walks in two years but I definitely think Lindholm is staying when is contract is up in two years. Maybe we lose a guy like Hanifin which would suck but you are able to recover from that, after all we recovered from losing Tkachuck and Gaudreau

  2. I really wish people would not be allowed to post their own “articles”.

If other people want to share cool, but this dude doesn’t even contribute to our board other than blatant self promotion of posting his podcast, YT videos and blog spam.

  3. I understand that this is an opinion and you’re not trying to say this is a fact or anything, but I still have to argue a couple things. 1. We have no idea who our next coach could be. I agree that it’ll be hard to replace Darryl when he’s done, but how do you know we won’t make some miraculous signing of another high profile coach? Or even a rookie coach that has a breakthrough season with a (by that point) grizzled veteran team?
And 2. You don’t mention anywhere in the cap breakdown that there’s an expected 10mil increase in the cap coming in 2025. That will be huge for every team, including the flames. I know our guys are going to get older, but look at the way Pittsburgh, Washington and Boston have built their teams around their core veteran pieces for years now. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that we can continue to be competitive for a number of years still.
