[Jared Tims] My report on O’Hoppe for y’all | “An above average defensive catcher who is a leader behind the dish and can hit is a hot commodity these days, and the Halos have one now! O’Hoppe is probably a .260/.360/.525 hitter that has 15-20 HR power and can catch 120-140 games a year.”

  1. Does he really think that’s his peak because I feel like his potential peak is much higher than that

  2. Lol those numbers would be prime buster Posey. Very bold prediction before any mlb ABs. Also if he was this good why would the Phillies give him up just for Brandon Marsh.

  3. I’ve said from the day the trade happened.. the dude can hit. He is mechanically sound and has a short compact swing.

I can’t wait to see how it translates

  4. i think those numbers are reasonable but not his potential, he could hit for more power i think

  5. I, for one, have no problems seeing our young catcher duo of Thaiss and O’Hoppe finishing out the season. Suzuki can start his retirement early and I don’t need to see anymore Stassi.

  6. LMFAO Timmy Tims that slash line along with 15-20 HR. That’d be an ungodly amount of doubles and triples.

For reference, Trea Turner this season has .474 SLG. He has 20 HR, 39 2B, 4 3B

Apparently Tims expects him to hit as many doubles and slug better than Freddie Freeman.

You can’t SLG .525 with only a .260 AVG and 15-20 HR (over 120+ games as a C). Around 100 games or lower, sure.
