  1. This season was the baseball equivalent of watching Sideshow Bob continually stepping on rakes.

  2. 2022 White Sox, the double Doink (fuck you Parkey), D Rose’s knee, The punky QB getting body slammed after the whistle. These are the first ones that come to mind. What else we got? No Cubs shit. Bartman is a hero!

  3. He compared Lance Lynn’s W-L record this year versus last year. That’s all you need to know about the quality of this article. Giolito’s shitass season magically doesn’t appear in the article.

  4. Steve stone was talking about it on the score yesterday how it’s not worse than the 04 cubs as they actually had a shot to win in 03 and then actually blew it in 04.

The 21 Sox got bodied in the playoffs and totally dropped the ball this year. Not even close to the 04 abortion of the cubs season.

  5. I am showing my age, but this was a monumental crap-the-bed in Chicago sports history. There are other disappointments, but man, they just tripped on themselves at every opportunity.

And for his narcissistic, ball-cutting, unprofessional, short-sighted behavior…let’s give a big, fat, middle-finger to Jerry Reinsdorf.

  6. The closest comparison to this season is the 2009 Cubs. Team missed the playoffs after two straight seasons of losing in the NLDS. Large payroll but played an ugly style of baseball and was plagued by injuries. All lead by a decorated manager who was more interested in lounging with a drink than managing a bullpen.

  7. I’m kind of surprised that more people don’t mention the ‘89 Bears. Coming off a trip to the NFC championship, had a great draft, team was healthy, started 4-0……and finished 6-10

  8. Certainly the most disappointing White Sox team of all time – not sure if we were all just (yet again) duped by Reinsdorf into thinking these guys were better than they were, or the coaching staff just sunk the talent. Honestly, I’m more inclined to believe the former.

Last year’s team basically rode One Month Wonder Yermin Mercedes’ insanely hot bat the first half of the season to a 54-35 record, but the second half 39-34 record was probably more accurate. Hyped prospects (e.g. Moncada) = busts/disappointments, insanely hyped prospects (e.g. Robert) = decent players. One thing’s for sure – I won’t be fooled again! Sell the team, Jerry.

  9. Fuck the sun times and Rick Morrissey for hiding behind a paywall and for generally sucking for almost as long as the Sox have.

  10. This just shows how pitiful our history is. This would be just another season of Atlanta Braves baseball because this is their floor.
