Justin Verlander and Clayton Kershaw

Probably an obvious answer but who knows: who’s higher on the all time list?

Both are GOATs, easily top 10 and can be argued top 5. No shade to either, I love both of them to death and have had the pleasure of watching them do their thing.

  1. Looking at their numbers, it’s gotta be Kershaw.

But I’d totally forgotten Verlander has three no hitters!

  2. Cardinals fan but good Kershaw story:

In June 2014 I just got a (used =<$$$) hot tub and just got the video level of the at-bat app for the first time. I was sitting in the tub and seeing what games were on that I could watch.

I flipped to the Dodgers game and it was Kershaw in something like 4th or 5th inning. Kicked it a while and all of a sudden it was the 7th, 8th, 9th!

So one of the all-time baseball memories I’ll have is lounging out in the tub for way too long, with the first time having the ability to watch a game on mobile while doing so, and Kershaw throwing a no-no.

Dodgers and general baseball fans can thank me for getting pruned up to avoid any possibility of jinxing that game for him. You’re welcome lol.

  3. Verlander to me is better. But ask me tomorrow and I might say Kershaw. We are lucky to be able to enjoy watching both.

  4. Probably Verlander due to being in the league a few more years. After they both retire, who knows?

Also: Why does it show Verlander as not being on the Astros in 2021? He was under contract, just inactive due to TJ recovery.

  5. Kershaw probably had the better peak but I’d go with Verlander for the career. But the fact both won MVP awards as pitchers speaks to how incredible both are.
