I can’t believe he came in, correctly diagnosed the problem, proceeded to do nothing about it, and signed another anchor contract.
I have to think it’s an ownership issue. They won’t let anyone rebuild. “This city can’t handle a rebuild.” And proceeds to support the Canucks through Bennings reign of terror. Teams like the Kings were great, sold off, and are on the rise already. Canucks still a capped out borderline playoff team. The Acquilinis desperate for two play dates a decade are missing out on a potential big run or two in the same time frame If they did things right and were patient. How did they become billionaires with such a short sighted management style? How did they let Benning run this team into the ground and then sewer it for years more on his way out?
It’s baffling. I’ll still watch but I’m not expecting much.
Fuck me you people are impossible pessimists
Can everyone just chill….? It’s a flat cap still and every team is in a pinch. Why would a team help the canucks out of Benning’s mistakes? It’ll take time, I know we have had a rough go with the Benning years but realistically it’s probably still a few years out from having the roster fixed. I think it’s just controlling what they can and improving when they can and trying to bring up the floor of the depth chart
Was Seattle playing pretty much their full roster?
Canucks have never had a good breakout lol
*Unfinished Business*
This team is screwed without Hughes, and it’s hilarious because teams know that
I mean, it’s not that he doesn’t want to, he literally can’t lol
I think Rutherford wants to give this group a chance, and is willing to let them have a full off-season to prove they can do something.
But if the team starts with a shit first 10 games, I guarantee he’s going to start fucking chopping heads.
I’d put guys like Pearson, Horvat, OEL, Myers, and Garland on the trade watch if things don’t start well.
I don’t see Rutherford and Allvin waiting until it’s too late to make changes.

Should’ve traded Miller
No point in changing anything yet
Same old same old. Definition of insanity.
