Every single Zach play today is going to be so overly scrutinized, by the time his first drive is over he’ll either be going to Canton or it’ll be time to scan the 2023 QB options 😂 It’s 1 game! Let’s hope for the best but also let’s try to avoid overreactions today

  1. I will overreact as is my right. Being a Jets fan, there is no gradual improvement ever. It’s been either boom or bust for years. You must overreact to a good showing cause you can almost always guarantee you are not going to see another one next week. Until the team changes those expectations, the overreactions are not going to stop.

  2. I’ve never seen such attempts to downplay a team/players bad performance before it actually happened. I am not one of these so called “doomsdayers”, but this is getting almost insulting. So many people trying to tell other how to feel…

  3. I mean is he wrong? Zach hasn’t played yet. I mean even good QBs have all been playing ass to start the year. Burrow threw what 3-4 picks week 1?

I think it’s fine to be upset after an L or a bad performance, but people will be posting about moving on from Zach one week and then posting about how we’ve “found our guy” the next. It’s ridiculous.

I for one will just simply believe he’s going 400 for 4TD today.

  4. I understand this take, but we have to see SOMETHING today. I want to see a few big plays here and there. And I need to him to not lose us the game.

    I don’t think that’s asking too much

  5. this sub will lose their minds over people saying “Zach hasnt played the game for real for like over 2 months, its very possible theres an adjustment period.

youll get 40 year old loser neckbeards goin “IVE BEEN A FAN OF THIS TEAM FOR A GAZAILLION YEARS AND I DESERVE A GOOD FOOTBALL TEAM BECAUSE IM A LOSER”. or “GOD, MAKING EXCUSES? WHAT A LOSER”

Were at that point of the season where i hate like, maybe 80% of you and i believe this fanbase is full of such weak minded fucking losers that make football literally everything in their entire life, we probably dont deserve to do good with the mentality thats prevailed on this sub the past couple of days

  6. I don’t think the average jets fan is prone to overreaction. Most of us are pretty objective in our fandom.

Having said that, today is 100% the start of a run that will end with a 15-2 record, Zack being league mvp, super bowl mvp and the jets having both the oroy and droy. The only question at that point will be how many players on the current roster will make it to canton.

  7. Can’t wait for the doomers on the game thread. Every incomplete pass in the 1st Q has people questioning their sanity. The games have been decided in the 4th Q. Then question your sanity.

  8. Coaching determines most football games and Tomlin is better than Saleh, so there you go.

  9. Honestly I feel pretty much exactly the way I get when darnold was coming back from mono. The offense has shown enough that I feel like if Zach is who we think he is, he should be showing it. Not saying it needs to be a perfect game but even if he makes mistakes he should be able to rebound with the talent around him. Overall though it’s a game against a very beatable opponent so as a whole if this team isn’t in this game, it’s disappointing either way.

  10. Buddy, the people that need this can’t read and everyone else is already doing keeping this kind of stuff in mind.

  11. I think it’s only natural to react to each play and analyze, but all QBs have bad plays so I’d rather hold my judgement till after the game. One thing I’ll definitely do is avoid the game day thread, it just makes me enjoy the game less. If I learned anything from the Browns game, just enjoy football and read up afterwards

  12. 4 out of 11 of ZW interceptions last year came on game 2 against the patriots. He is a lot better at protecting the ball than people think. He is no sam darnold.

  13. He’ll be fun to watch but no one should expect a complete turnaround from one guy coming back. Should they beat the Steelers? Yes absolutely. Will they? Not sure if I want to bet on it.

  14. I think the anger is we are not playing against a week one qb. This dude gets paid to be our qb, we want him to just be competitive.

  15. It all depends on how he looks. Is he missing receiver’s by a mile? Is he throwing at his tight ends feet? Is he making good decisions? He has to look better than last year.

  16. After his horrible rookie season I already have one eye on a QB next year.

But that’s because I’m not fucking delusional and I look at precedence.

You know how many QB’s had a rookie season like him and have gone on to be successful? Not fucking many.
