  1. My hot take going into this season was that dadonov would fetch a 1st at the deadline

At this point it will be a miracle if hes not a healthy scratch by november

This team is going to break some type of goals against record

  2. Slafkovsky was our best forward tonight, love to see it. Dach was also whipping it cross-ice on the pp like I haven’t seen in years, if he learns to trust his shot, look out.

Now time to get them both away from Hoffman.

  3. Well we suck, but slaf finally looked decent, he was actually involved in the play and the offense and creating real chances, all positives sign

    Monahan was a great pickup

the defense is so fucking bad

    dadonov is garbage

  4. Slaf looked fantastic tonight. Still a few things to clean up but I really think this was a great way to show he can contribute at the NHL level. You can definitely see that high ceiling everybody talks about from this game

  5. What was Chicago doing to Dach to make him look so bad? If we get to see more of this Hughes might have to trade for Colton too!

  6. If there’s one thing this game has taught us it’s that a line of Slaf-Dach-Anderson would be so fun to watch

  7. Like what I’m seeing from Dach and Slaf. The team will be “under construction” for the foreseeable future. So I wouldn’t be surprised if these kind of performances were par for the course this year. It’s all about development!

  8. We are just lacking talent. Are the two games in the Maritimes televised? I don’t see them.

  9. Slaf and Dach were great

Matheson, Monahan and Leskinen were ok

Dadonov, Barron and Bowey were terrible

    rest were meh

  10. Slaf and Dach were pretty good, and I really liked Gally. Outside of that…

We should start to see some cuts to some of the prospects. Barron had a good game last time, but he’s been pretty awful in every other game, and Schueneman has somehow been worse.

Dark horse for a spot, Leskinen has outplayed either of them, and they’ve tried him alonside Matheson this game (and he did pretty well).

  11. All I want in life is to see Slaf line up with Cole and Nick at centre ice for puck drop opening night

  12. Dadanov was free and it was still a terrible deal. He’s awful.

Did we dress any defence tonight? They were all awful.

  13. *GOOD*

Dach has been stellar. He consistently created plays and made his teammates dangerous in the offensive zone. His long passes in the power play were gorgeous.

Slafvosky showed a great combination of skill and effort, which is exactly why Kent Hughes drafted him. This is by far his best pre-season game of all. He knew how to create space for himself and used his size strategically to protect the puck. If he keeps playing the same way, he will stay in the roster.

Drouin took some calculated risks. It was nice to see him in the crease à la Gallagher. I was skeptical about him saying that he had more motivation this year but tonight it showed.

    *BAD*

Barron. Oh my. Although we desperately need defense on the right side, he does not look ready.

Dadonov did not look good at all. If the play dies everytime the puck lands on his stick, can it really be that he’s unlucky ? It was painful at times.

Hoffman. Need I say more ?

Allen did us a Primeau special with that soft goal in the third period. I like Allen, it happens to the best of us. Just not in the regular season please.

    On to the next one…

    Edit: a word

  14. Yep, I see why we traded for dach now. The guy has been pretty good in his last two preseason games.

  15. I’m so glad we chose Slaf in the draft. And I love his interviews. He’s going to be great.

  16. The good:

    Slaf got an assist! 🥹
3 Leafs in the penalty box at the same time… 🥸

The bad: Pretty much everything else…

The worst: Actually wished for PP to end. It was that painful to watch.

  17. Slaf in post-game interviews says that his game is getting better but that he can still give more. Journalist asks what are the elements he can work on. Slaf with his giant teenager grin: “I don’t tell my secrets.”

    LOL

  18. Slaf And Dach were gods on the ice tonight.

I just can’t fucking wait to FINALLY see Nick and Cole together tomorrow.

  19. Obviously an acute need at RD. Seems Barron has to go to Laval, and it seems that Harris should play on left side. Could Leskinen make the team? Or try to find someone from another team somehow?

  20. Alright, dadonov please find the tank and take the helm because Jesus that play will all but guarantee a last place finish. Dach was fantastic like his stick handling, speed and passing. The only knock on his game is face offs need to be improved, I understand he’s 21 tho so that’ll come. Slaf had his best game yet and I love seeing the big man get in there and create tons of chances. Outside of that Monahan seems to be better, needs to get conditioned. The rest of the boys looked meh or bad.
