  1. TL;DR:

Mel says that Edward Cabrera has a very high ceiling. He sees a bit of young Sandy in him, but Cabrera is still a work in progress. Jackson seems to think Marlins might be hesitant to deal him but who knows?

Mel thinks that Max Meyer profiles as a bullpen guy, due to his delivery and pitch arsenal. Not opposed to trying him out as a starter first.

Mel also is really high on Sixto’s natural ability and thinks he can reach to ace status *if he stays healthy.*

Mel high on Eury Perez and thinks he could have a quicker than normal path to the big leagues. But also thinks that the organization needs to be patient with him. He likes the smooth, effortless, repeatable delivery

Braxton Garrett has improved the most out of any arm in the organization. Has expanded pitch arsenal and has gotten better at location. He could be a possible trade candidate while his value is higher.

The Marlins could revisit a Pablo Lopez trade in the offseason.

  2. Wonder if the interview was before or after they announced Mattingly is gone. I suspect before.
