For anyone who wants to blame the line for Baker’s inept performance. “Ey, it ain’t their fault!” Master P 😂

  1. We’ll see another real test this week against the 9ers dline but it’s clear we’re building something pretty solid for the next QB we trade a 4-6th round pick for.

  2. I love seeing the growth of Icky. If he finishes with a solid rookie season, we land a Top 2 pick, Rhule gets fired into the sun, and Tepper gets visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, then I think next year could be very exciting!

  3. The front office really needs to drop the idea that bad/mediocre QBs from others teams are going to turn it around here.

I wouldn’t describe our o-line as good, but its getting better and certainly not the root cause of our terrible offense.

  4. And this dumb take continues. Watch the game, quit looking at stats. They don’t tell the whole story.

  5. The fact is that Baker just has really distinct strengths and weaknesses, and Ben McAdoo’s system is about the worst possible plan you could make for him.

And I don’t even think McAdoo’s system is *wrong* by any means. It’s just wrong for Baker.

Baker is slow, both throwing and reading the field. But he’s also creative outside the pocket with good arm talent.

But Ben McAdoo runs a system that revolves around quick, scripted passes. It’s about the roundest hole for Baker’s square peg to try and squeeze into.

Which is probably why McAdoo thought so little of Baker in the draft. The things McAdoo looks for in a QB are antonyms to the things Baker provides.

  6. The line has been good this year – credit to the Fitterer for the talent and credit to Campen for knowing how to coach
