  1. Only one run on a solo bomb. No hits for the first 4. Yeah, this team wasn’t gonna randomly fire on the jets for the playoffs after a month of dead bats and series Ls. Can we at least win one game so we don’t end the season on seven straight losses?

  2. This game was so frustrating. Pitching was absolutely incredible but our offense besides Siri sucked. I would have never thought playoff Randy would go 0-4 with 3 Ks. It makes me sick that Shane had to get the L

  3. Shame on the Rays for wasting Shane like that. Maybe one day this staff will hold the hitting core to the same standards as the pitching core.

  4. Gonna be a quick exit from the playoffs. Another year, another disappointment. As is tradition.

  5. It feels like our bats always go away during playoffs. Not that our offense was clicking beforehand or anything.

  6. 3 hits just isn’t going to cut it. 6 out of their 9 reached base on a hit. 3 of ours did. Just not acceptable.

  7. Looks like this will be a short stay for us. i’m fine with it, rather the guardians than jays/astros/yankees. and siri is the truth

  8. It’s a 3 game series for a reason. We can do this. It’s not over until it’s over.

  9. Top of the lineup cost us this game. Should have been an easy win with any discipline at the plate. Pitching did its job as usual.

  10. Elite pitching, high school level offense. This is the Rays. This will always be the Rays unless the MLB takes the team from Sternberg and gives it to someone who is actually willing to not be a cheap piece of shit.

  11. Well…at least is wasn’t a 4 hour depression session. Either way we’ve got a chance to get hot, but its going to be a battle.

  12. Seriously though, did you guys expect anything else. It is a fucking miracle that we are in the postseason as it is. We have no fucking sticks. How many 2-3 hit game losses have we seen this year (a shit ton). Our pitching staff can and will pitch gems but we will still get L’s due to this lifeless lineup.

  13. I’m not tipping any caps. I don’t care that beiber is good. Any pitcher can shut this offense down. Hitting coach must be fired

  14. You gotta feel for Shane here, only made one mistake all game and his team couldn’t back him up.

  15. Wish it was one game so i dont have to watch this pathetic team try to hit tmrw

  16. 2 Pitches really making all the difference today. A solo home run and a 2-run HR to answer. Pitcher’s duel where Bieber came out on top. His slider had so much late bite to it.

  17. That’s just how this series is going to go. We all knew that going in. Not sure why anyone expected them to just magically flip a switch and start hitting. We saw it in the series vs them at the end of the year. They have to somehow find a way to be the team that gets the big hit or two. Can’t make your pitchers feel like the have to be perfect. Giving up one or two runs must feel like a nightmare for this pitching staff.

  18. also i just wanna point out Bieber was OK. he was nothing special.. sitting at 91 mph and not really dotting his pitches up. Rays offense is just so shit that he looked amazing. im certain any other major league offense wouldve put up a bigger number

  19. rays build for the regular season and hope they can luck their way to a championship in the playoffs.

is what it is. this is predictable.

  20. Will be downvoted to heck but I think the O’s would have been more fun to watch in our place. This…was just another regular season game to me. Nothing felt special. No one but Shane turned his performance up. This offense was just the same thing we’ve seen for a month.

  21. I can’t help but feel like this core of guys we have like Lowe, Choi, Randy, Diaz, etc are just being wasted. We’re now on year 4 of postseason and if anything we’ve subtracted. It wasn’t like 4 guys went down late September. We had chances to add at the last 2 deadlines and did JACK SHIT. Don’t tell me Cruz is a great example. He was a rental and sure he counts but it was always a rental. These “can’t miss” prospects haven’t proven shit besides racking up frequent flier miles between TB and Durham.

  22. Just fucking garbage. Love these guys but I’m going to enjoy my Saturday tomorrow and not watch.

  23. Well, we definitely played like the 3rd wildcard shouldn’t even exist. This is what happens when you don’t spend money on hitters.

  24. Ownership is a cancer here. Players do not want to come play here, they can’t see the damn ball at the Trop, and we will never pay guys or attempt to give a fair offer to be competitive in the FA market. I’m not saying go overpay and end up with Jason Heyward-esque contracts holding you down. But my god can we at least look like we’re going for it?

  25. Fuck Stu in his cheap ass. Trying to build another stadium in Montreal when we can’t even pay for one here! Spending your money on the wrong shit, pal

  26. Every year this team outputs some of the most pathetic offense in the postseason I’ve ever seen. Randy carried this team by will during the WS year, with that exception the bats are always awful in October. At what point do we start asking question about Cash, he gets carried by Neander and the pitching staff.

  27. It’s amazing that this team was only no-hit once this year, but I guess there’s always tomorrow. Zero plate discipline all season and 2/3 of the lineup today looked like career AL pitchers when they had to hit in interleague games. Hopefully they can find some fire but today we looked like a team getting through game 162 to start the off-season.

  28. I miss the August Rays. At least I’m not an Angels, Padres or Brewer’s fan. 2-game exit was unbelievably predictable

  29. I know it sucks being negative and all, but I forgot this game was even on this morning and when I looked at the score and saw after 6 innings we were losing 2-1 I knew that would be the final score.

This team isn’t as good as the 2020 team, but it’s very similar in the fact that we have good pitching that will keep us in the game, but our offense is shit and we can’t score more than 2 or 3 a game. So it’s depressing when the other team gets 2 runs and you know we can’t overcome it.

Still rooting for the boys and hope they can somehow win this series, but considering how we just fell over into the postseason this is how I imagined it would go.
