Not that, like, I expected him to be a genius or anything, but when a lot of the rhetoric during the offseason was how much emphasis he put on teaching, I kind of expected our 33 year old quarterback to actually know the playbook

If you watch the film, the routes are there. I was also banging my head against the wall with play calling but guys are getting open, Russ just isn’t seeing the field. The last play wasn’t the only play Russ missed Hamler for a TD, he had Hamler at least 3 other times that game for huge plays/TDs. Don’t get me wrong Hackett hasn’t been fantastic but Wilson is missing wide open guys when a good play is called.
I’m truly convinced that Hackett was only brought in to lure Rodgers here and when that didn’t happen Paton went full on “Wilson was our guy from day 1” when that was painfully obviously not true.

Having said that. While Hackett sucks, he’s not the one who has gone 2 for 18 on passes into the end zone. Russ has been abysmal.
Bears fan here. You could substitute Luke Getsy and we’d get the same result. Actually even worse.
Hackett has had some questionable playing calling but it isn’t terrible. Russ just ain’t making the right reads…he had Hamler wide open on the last play and didn’t even glance his direction
Dude has made terrible decision after terrible decision. Trying to recover from his botched FG decision week 1 and now put it in Russ’s ice cold hands. 4th quarter 3rd down INT so he goes right back to Russ on 3rd down for another INT. Truly awful decision making
What we are feeling rn is probably the same shit Dolphins fans felt when they hired Gase as their HC after his time as Peyton Manning’s OC lol
EDIT: just to avoid being downvoted, I don’t believe Hackett is our main problem. Injuries and bad QB play are bigger problems rn
I was admittedly unsure of Hackett, only because I had a budding conspiracy that coaching the Packers for the last few decades is coaching in easy mode and they shouldn’t be trusted outside of that system. But that was admittedly solely based on following McCarthy in Dallas. The way things are looking with Hackett I’m not ready to say debunked.

The only reason you hire Hackett is because he’s a package deal with Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers isn’t in Denver, so I don’t understand why Hackett is.
Anyone who thought Hackett was the brains behind the Packer offense was delusional.
