The Phoenix Eagles were almost a thing. Former Eagles owner Leonard Tose was so broke that he nearly had a deal in place to move the Eagles to Arizona in 1985.

I’m still curious to how an owner of a large market city like Philly could be broke. The lack of true success was squarely in the owners hands and it explains most of our history before Lurie got here
