[Trotter] Jadeveon Clowney, on the state of the #Browns defense: “Not good. We got the names and the pieces on paper but we got to come out here and put it together. … I expect a lot out of this defense. And right now, we ain’t showing up and doing it.”

  1. Interesting!! Who is responsible for coordinating the defense so that the individual talents come together and form a cohesive unit? Maybe we should try and upgrade from that person.

  2. I just don’t understand how you can get to this level of football and just forget how to tackle. The whole defense is fucking 10-ply.

  3. The otherside of Postgame pressers, where Clowney, who has no interest in setting the edge, calls out his defense for being good on paper.

Clowney is a big time impact player, but his unwillingness to set the edge consistently is a big reason browns get gashed outside, so these comments are interesting to say the least.

  4. Browns D has given up 440 rushing yards the past 2 games and you’re 0-2 in those games. Big shocker.

  5. It’s almost like we should hire someone to put this altogether and … I guess coordinate the defense?

  6. Translation: “The scheme we’re put in doesn’t maximize or fit our talents”

  7. I appreciate this response more than the “We have to be better”. It’s authentic.

  8. Fire Joe fuckin woods. He’s dogshit, always has been always will. The Adam Gase of DCs.

  9. It doesn’t matter who trots out onto the field. No player will look good in this paradoxically vanilla yet confusing soft zone that Joe Woods insists on continuously playing regardless of the situation.

  10. People probably don’t want to hear it but Clowney is better than Myles. He’s able to play more snaps on defense and he’s more disruptive when he’s on the field. I realize he’s always had health issues but the dude is a beast and I hope they figure out a way to keep him around another few seasons. I am now prepared for the “but Myles is double teamed” fans to tear me down, but my eyes see what they see.

  11. This would be nice. [Sciliano] Bills have allowed only 7 points in the second half this season. SEVEN.
