[Quick] Pretty underwhelming preseason for Portland. Gave zero indication anything has changed defensively and have looked disjointed/confused on offense. Not feeling the optimism many are trying to sell, but hey, maybe it will all come together down road. Guess that’s why we tune in.

2. I think this is what a lot of people have been trying to say. It really doesn’t look any better than last year regarding who plays. No one cares that it’s preseason, it’s how we lose, how the offense looks, and how the defense looks. You would think that the kinks should’ve been worked out, however it still doesn’t pass the eye test.

3. It’s preseason with a new roster that was not fully available. How’s Payton 2 gonna impact their game? I’ve been optimistic, this isn’t as bad as the Jailblazer era like when Stoudamire tried taking weed wrapped in tinfoil through a metal detector… Honestly my expectations are along the lines of getting traction by mid season and being a low seed.

7. It’s fair. The whole, “it’s preseason narrative,” is nonsense. The team won’t magically become respectable on opening night. We look startlingly bad, and less than the sum of our parts. I’m sure it’ll improve, but how much is a serious concern at this point if the team is legitimately pursuing a win now approach.

   Hopefully Cronin is willing and enabled to make firm decisions on our path forward depending on how the team looks by Jan.

9. Told you guys. I knew something was fishy when we got smoked by the rebuilding jazz against mainly our starters. This team is going to suck big time especially our bench and rebounding

10. If this team is not 3 years from contending for a title, than trading Dame for multiple first round picks and tanking is my preferred play. I’d like to see a title in Portland, not watch middling good to middling bad seasons for the next 10 years.

12. The last 3 years of blazer basketball is starting to give me a really bad taste in my mouth. It’s not just losing but the way we lose; the consistent lack of effort, the same flaws that can somehow never get addressed, no defense (primary flaw). It’s getting real sad in portland. I hope billups can turn it around, but I doubt it. I’m pessimistic that we can get a new coach/system/players in place to optimize dames prime – but the more you look at it it’s going to take a miracle to do so.

13. I don’t understand how we can have two different coaches across multiple seasons and our defense still has the same problem – giving up too many outside shots. I don’t see what the throughline is here that’s leading to all this. Change the roster. Change the schemes. Change the coach. Still give up too many 3s. What’s the solution?
