Ops 1.000? Put that stud in
Mookie, Trea, Trayce, and Will are all in that low-700 average OPS range. Mookie, Trea, and Will are normally extremely good when facing left handed pitchers (.977, .866, .908 OPS, respectively, against LHP this year). Maybe we will see some regression to the mean from Mookie and Trea in this game.
JT, Muncy, and obviously Belli have really struggled against Snell. Benching Belli against Snell makes sense. Muncy and JT have had competitive at bats in the last couple games, even though JT hasn’t reaped the rewards yet. Hopefully they can step up against Snell tonight.
Gallo’s 3/5 against Snell with two homers really stands out. He normally would struggle against a left-handed pitcher, with a high strikeout rate, who doesn’t give up a lot of HRs on average. Even though this is a big anomaly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Gallo made an appearance in this game as a pinch hitter, depending on the at bat quality from Trayce and Taylor early on in the game.
