[Jackson] Oladipo was held out of practice Tuesday because of left knee tendonosis and may need to miss Wednesday’s season opener against the Chicago Bulls

Oladipo was held out of practice Tuesday because of left knee tendonosis and may need to miss Wednesday’s season opener against the Chicago Bulls at FTX Arena because of the issue.

According to Baptist Health, tendonosis “is a chronic condition characterized by the degeneration of collagen in the tendons. Tendinosis symptoms might feel like pain or stiffness when you try to move or touch the affected area.”

  1. Hopefully doesn’t turn into one of those things where he ends up missing an unexpectedly large amount of games, then opts for surgery missing the rest of the season.

Just want a healthy Dipo season

  2. Probably for the best. He looked like trash in the pre-season. Take the time you need to be 100%, Vic

  3. Kid: I want Victor Oladipo!

Mom: We got Oladipo at home!

  4. Damn, it’s over. I’ve been watching him since he came to the league, he rarely uses his right leg to jump/run/first step.

  5. Explains a lot, especially from what a few of us saw

Hopefully, this week of practice helped mitigate that with our bench rotations

  6. I think we all felt like something was up. He looked bad in pre-season. I went to the last game vs NO and he couldn’t get past anyone. The only reason he had a few assists was bc he had no option but to pass out to Strus who hit some ridiculously deep and contested 3’s.

This feels bad, but I don’t have a ton of hope for Dipo returning to his former self.

  7. On a positive note we have Gabe, Strus, and Duncan and this will give them more opportunities to shine. It’s a shame he can’t stay healthy though

  8. I’m happy we didn’t re-sign Dipo for too much…but do teams not do some kind of thorough physical on players before signing them to new deals? Even if they’ve been with an organization currently or previously?

  9. We are likely not see full strength Vic until the all star break. I Don’t expect to see him play at all for the first month of the season. Chronic tendinosis is a lingering injury that will keep him from being explosive until it heals in three months

  10. Damn, Miami teams just can’t seem to catch break with these early in season injuries. Hopefully we will be healthy come playoff time.

  11. Oladipo is done. Tendonosis is the stage of degenerative injury in those tendon. Would trade for Westbrook if we can get a 1st round pick while shipping out the bad contracts of Robinson and Lowry. Having oladipo, Robinson and Lowry in the cap next season would be a waste of the cap going up. Without oladipo scoring punch off the bench we phucked
