There were several tweets quoting Marner and Keefe’s interviews this morning on the sub. I suggest watching the interview itself.

I feel like the context changes the tone.

What do y’all think?

  1. Context changes it differently. Keefe addressed with players. (They did not come to him or even realize he quoted it). Sounds more like he didn’t like how he expressed his words post game and wanted to clarify with players. Knowing that.. Marner is just confirming he spoke with Keefe… not that he called Keefe out. Seems pretty different than what the media was spinning with tweets imo.

  2. Sounds like Keefe held a routine team meeting and explained they lost specifically because they didn’t score goals. Doesn’t sound like he’s pulling punches to me.

Marner doesn’t seem upset or anything and just admits they had what sounds like a routine team meeting among professionals.

Sounds like more of a nothing-burger to me. Toronto’s media is genuinely the worst in the league for this crap.

  3. It absolutely changes the context. But you can’t create conflict and have fans jump on board the “Hate Marner” train if you actually quote things in context…
