  3. Verlander started 10 postseason games against the Yankees

    We are 2-8 in those games and he pitched 64.1 IP to a 2.52 ERA and .886 WHIP, and one of our Ws was in a game where he pitched 1 inning due to a rainout. Take out the rainout and his average start exceeds 7.0 IP. His ERA in postseason games against non-Yankees is 4.05, we lower it to 3.55

If we want to look at a silver lining, we were on the road against the obvious Cy Young winner, struckout 17 times, had our 4th starter start the game, brought in Clarke Schmidt at the worst time, AND were still about only 1 or 2 feet away from a homerun off Stanton’s bat that could have had us tied at 4 with a chance to win. Fallacy of the predetermined outcome be damned!

  9. Im actually amazed. How can you have a job for 5 years and not learn a single goddamn thing? How are you still pulling the same dumb shit you were as a rookie manager? Boone and the analytics need to be cleaned out and reoplaced. Cashman, too. Because we know at least 50%+ of the decisions are him. Seriously how many pitchers are “on” and end up pitching less than 15 pitches or only getting 1 out and leaving. Idk how anyone can claim hes a good manager because his record is the most misleading stat ever

    We are living in a jerry jones situation where a FO guy is overstepping his role and fucking the team throughout.

    Also playoffs performance is gonna overshadow judges season and ppl will see its a trend. He just doesnt perform consistently in the playoffs. He needs to turn this shit around. So does the rest of the lineup, stanton and bader cant be our only source of runs

  21. Sure, we lost a game where Verlander went against our fourth starter. It’s ok. One thing I learned from this game is that Houston is beatable. They are not an unbeatable juggernaut. Let’s see how they do against our big 3 SPs.

  24. Why are people obsessing over bringing German in against the Astros now?

    He was shelled against them earlier this year, he has a FIP in the mid 4s and isn’t normally coming out of the bullpen.

    I agree bringing Montas in wasn’t a good choice but people saying German over Schmidt are crazy
