10. Two nice wins in a row, this one was especially sweet though. Defense looked great, Blackwood looked great, Hughes finally put one home. Felt like a breakthrough game, hopefully this keeps up.

20. This game reminded me of some of the Canes games from like 18-19 before they fully ascended. Dominating the neutral zone, always prepping for the next shot. Really quite encouraging. Much more so than the win against the Ducks IMO. Excellent win. I will likely be buying a ticket to see them in person for the first time this year on Saturday.

29. I missed the game but I just want all of the Severson haters (across the whole fan base not just this sub) to take another look at that stretch pass leading to Jack’s goal.

30. Two very strong games in a row, and the islanders are a bar we need to clear this season. Great response to the first two games of the season where it felt like nothing could go right.
    Would like to see yegor get moving a little more in the right positions to utilize his shot. He hasn’t been very dangerous yet, but he started slowly last year as well. Need that one or two extra weapons to start finishing on some of this zone domination.

31. Literal best 60 minute effort of the past idk 3 years? Complete domination, incredible defense, and flawless play in the neutral zone. Idk if 11/7 is sustainable and I dont think the best place for Holtz is the press box, but besides that i cant really nitpick. Amazing game.

32. That islanders team looked like a Lou team…. old, slow, and questionable contracts.

38. As pumped as I am about tonight’s performance, I can’t help but wonder if tonight had more to do with problems the Islanders have. I’ve been telling people since before last season that they need to blow the whole thing up but won’t because Lou is their GM.

40. This team is fucking nasty, has been nasty in all 4 games, and will continue to be fucking nasty. Goaltending like tonight or Tuesday and it’s playoffs. no doubt in my mind.

    Not to put too fine a point on it, but were the Devils to have lost tonight I can think of at least 3 or 4 plays people would have pointed to to say this was a poor defensive effort (it wasnt, of course. it was a dominant performance start to finish)

    Just goes to show how goaltending can impact perception.
