[Eversoll] After the #Packers traded Davante Adams, we figured they’d run their offense through Aaron Jones. HOWEVER, Jones is literally touching the ball *less* than he was last year. 🤯 This year: 87 touches in six games. (14.5 per) Last year: 223 touches in 15 games. (14.86 per)

  1. Dillon has cut into his touches. Last year AJ had 13.0 touches/game, this year it’s 14.33.

And both AJ’s YPC and YPR are down from last year. From 4.3 to 3.9 YPC and 9.2 to 6.2 YPR.

Where Jones’ YPC is up from 4.7 to 5.8 and YPR down 7.5 to 7.2.

We need more Jones less AJ

  2. People gonna cry about how we don’t run the ball but the real reason Jones doesn’t touch the ball more is because Dillon takes 50% of his snaps and touches. Of course he’s not going to touch the ball 25 times when he’s only out there for half the game 🤷🏻‍♀️

  3. Wow!!! .3 carries per game difference better ditch this dumpster fire and start rooting for the Vikings amiright?!?!?!

  4. I’m just sick of Lafleur saying he’s underutilizing Jones every single week and not adjusting his game plan to give him more carries.

  5. We have 26 rush attempts per game up to this point. Last year we had 25.9.

Dillon is just getting his share too.

We can’t complain that Dillon doesn’t get the ball enough and then a few weeks later talk about how he gets it too much. We also can’t complain about Jones getting injured if we are begging the coach to give him 325 touches a year. It’s the coaches job to make sure he not only gets to the playoffs, but gets there healthy.

One of the reasons Jones is so effective is that after a defense takes a beating trying to bring down Dillon they are exhausted.
