  1. I wish someone would play this for Cashman and have him explain what he meant. The NY media has gone so soft.

How did most of us reddit losers realize it was a terrible trade from the minute it happened but Brian fucking Cashman with his army of nerds didn’t?

  2. This is a perfect microcosm of Cashman’s tenure. For more walks and homers he is **proudly** willing to spend three times as much for an all around objectively worse player.

  3. The trade basically confirmed everyone’s worst fears. That they weren’t gonna pursue a high-end SS in a loaded FA class even though we’re supposedly in win now mode. But then inexplicably they also took on 50 million dollars in additional salary for a washed Josh Donaldson. Just terrible roster management and allocation of resources by Cashman.

  4. Literally the only good thing about that trade was that it accidentally forced the Yankees to acquire a better starting catcher. In fact arguably a lot of Cashgod’s best moves this year were all “unplanned” lmaoo. Got Trevy because Rortvedt was injured, ended up being our best catcher. Got Carpenter because of COVID, ended up being our best hitter for a bit. Got Trivino as a side piece in the Montas trade, ends up being worth way more than Montas. Got Bader to be a defense first guy, hits the best he has in his career in the playoffs. Got to see the Oz’s play some good baseball, was only forced into allowing that because of injuries and poor play from his other main moves. Cashman trying to make delibrate roster building moves is a worse GM then Cashman trying to randomly plug injury gaps.

  5. i never understood why they needed to upgrade at third, gio was clutch and batted like 280 played good defense

  6. Poor trade by Cashman. If his plan all along was IKF on SS, he should’ve gotten him and Trevino from the Rangers and dumped Sanchez elsewhere.
