  1. Why do we have to play the **powerhouse** Canucks? Why can’t we play the **lightweight** Avalanche again?

  2. Bad news: We lost to the Canucks for their first win

Good news: I kinda hate them now and this is turning into a real rivalry

  3. Fucking sloppy play, especially the PP and PK. We need to play more consistently if we wanna go far.

  4. We outplayed them all game, just a few shitty defensive mistakes was the difference. Damn.

  5. For fucks sake, what is it with the Kraken and losing to shit teams but beating great ones?

  6. Fuck this one hurts. To outplay a shitty team like the Canucks and still give up 5 goals is completely unacceptable.

  7. Embarrassed as all hell to Vancouver their first win. *That said*, we look so, so much better. Our fight is so much better. Offensively we are a different team. I’m just proud they never stopped battling. I still think Hakstol’s scheme sucks. And Martin Jones is obviously no long-term answer. Wish we could watch Gruby and Driedger more to see if our goalie coaching change made a difference, cuz rn it’s the same story as last year but more salient.

  8. Seattle heavily dominated this game and found a way to lose. Quality of goaltending was a major factor tonight.

I don’t know if we’re good or bad. The offense is certainly significantly improved, but the goaltending just sucks the momentum away. Absolutely brutal loss to the worst team in the league.

  9. Two years in a row we give up the first win to the worst starting team. We had them, and made a few minor errors that killed us. That’s kraken hockey baby.

  10. Knew we were gonna lose as soon as we beat Buffalo. Team is so inconsistent. Hoping Gru can play soon and Donato stops getting scratched instead of Kuhlman. I rather they still work in Geekie and Sprong like they’ve been doing

  11. Biggest thing for me this entire season is we have to score 4+ goals to even THINK about winning.

Usually when you score that many every game, you’re undefeated in the same time frame. Fucking wild.

  12. Oh man, I just realized the Canucks now have the regular season cup…

From dropping seven in a row to taking the cup from us in their first win.

    Ugh.

  13. I feel like all we need is an average goalie and we could be good but instead were stuck with goalies who are awful like 80% of the time

  14. Jones is clearly not the answer to replace Gru and tonight proved it. 14 for 18. ***14 FOR 18 SHOTS ON GOAL SAVED***

FOR FUCK SAKE THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE

  15. It’s goaltending. You can’t win a game giving up 5 goals on like 19 shots. The offense is genuinely not bad but you shouldn’t have to score 4+ goals to have a chance at winning. But beating the reigning champs then giving the first W to a bad team is definitely Kraken hockey.

    Sad squid 🙁 🦑

  16. Beat the defending Stanley Cup champions on the road, lose to a glorified WHL team at home.

    That’s👏Kraken👏Hockey👏Baby👏

  17. Shoot the puck and cover the rebound. How hard is the math: if he misses the net it will end up at the opposite wall.

  18. We completely outplay them but lose. Our goaltending certainly needs something. THEY ONLY HAD 18 FUCKING SHOTS!! EIGHT TEEN. Come on.

  19. I definitely see some improvement from last year. I’ll even go on a limb and say our defense is looking pretty decent. Aside from the goalie situation. Sucks we lost, I hate it, but I enjoyed watching our team play and know they will get better.

  20. Hakstol winless against the two opponents that likely mean the most to the owners and fans: geographical rival Vancouver and expansion cousins Vegas. Moreover, the team remains a mess defensively and wildly erratic from game to game, already sustaining defensive collapses against three of the worst teams in the NHL—Anaheim, Chicago and Vancouver. Francis will resist firing Hakstol, however, because that would place Francis on the hot seat as next to go. Both are high character men and Francis was an amazing player before moving into management, but those two guys are simply proving to be disastrous hires for a fledgling franchise into a market already featuring the Seahawks, Mariners, Huskies, Sounders and Storm.
