This is beautiful and I can’t stop looking at it.
I love this but two things I hate:
1. I never noticed the owners and staff names ahead of the players, I would really prefer the players get it first and ownership/coaching get the bottom block. First one etched should be GABRIEL LANDESKOG CAPT 2. Big middle finger to the universe and its fucked up sense of cosmic humor to have the names directly above our block be the Wings and particularly Darren McCarty. \
Other than that, Im so happy to see the boys forever engraved on the greatest trophy in sports!
It’s beautiful and finally – I don’t know why the fuck they wait so long tbh.
Hmm they seem to have forgotten my name, even after I put in the hours and held down my couch. Easy mistake I guess
JACK JOHNSON, STANLEY CUP CHAMPION
They make these laser engravers that work with auto-CAD, you could make each name a pristine etching along a NASA quality straight line… but by choice the Stanley Cup has a guy with a 1986 electric hand held engraving tool who does his best.
