Super disappointed in Nick this year. This overhelping defensive scheme just isn’t it and we refuse to try anything different. He always gets praised for “trying new things” but how about literally just ONE GAME where we play regular defense and see what happens? It’s like he’s scared to see that the results will be better so he doesn’t do it, I honestly don’t understand it but it’s so frustrating to watch this team give up wide open 3 after wide open 3. There’s no reason a team with this level of individual defenders should be in the bottom half of the league on defense and unable to prevent open 3s AND rim attempts. Those are literally the most efficient shots and our defense lately is funneling teams to take those shots. Make it make sense.
Then our offensive gameplan is to just take turns ISOing guys. Basically our entire team is taller than the Sixers’ tallest player yesterday and we somehow couldn’t get to the rim. What is he even doing on offense?
