I’m a bit perplexed by this because yes, we don’t have a first round pick until 2026, but we still have a very young, and very talented young core locked up long term with excellent complimentary pieces and depth pieces for the next several seasons. We also have I believe $20 million in cap space coming free next season. This team should be in the hunt over the next several seasons.
This is an incredibly bad hot take imo. They have been pretty negative towards us lately. I wonder if it’s because of Huberdeau and Weegar, who are regulars on the podcast.

I mean I don’t disagree with them. Zito has been a Ken Holland type but instead of big contracts it’s been selling draft picks to win now and letting the next guy pick up the pieces. When the rebuild comes- and it will- it’s gonna be rough. I also don’t think that this team is cup ready.
