For someone who just wants to always shoot I thought THJ made some really smart basketball plays to help us build a lead in the 2nd half.
He also got hot for a while which helps. Hope this is the level he keeps up because he’s such a vital piece for us if he finds form.

Luka was 15/17 from 2 and 2/9 from 3. He’s been elite inside the arc
2nd half defense is how we need to always play defense.

I dont think we realize how good Luka has been to start the season, he scored 42pts today at near 70% TS

before the last 2 games I would be all praise about luka magic.
Now I am worried about the system and chemistry with our main additions this year: wood and mcgee. Not just their play but how we are incorporating them into our system. Terrible. Chemistry is not good.
Mosely is a rlly good coach, miss him here.

What I like
1) Luka bounced back from last night and played like an MVP
2) Josh green played well and will get more minutes if he plays like this
3) THJ is still inconsistent but actually played well this game and hit fts and 3pts
4) we also stopped banchero today. He had a season low and first time in his career he didn’t score 20+
5) when was the last time Luka had 0 turnovers? That’s actually incredible lol
What I didn’t like
1) the starters besides Luka didn’t play well until Dorian hit those clutch 3s
2) Christian wood seriously needs more touches. It’s not just Luka, everyone else isn’t feeding him the ball much

Win’s a win but this was not a pretty game. I really wish Dinwiddie could play the 2 more, his drives are legit but his playmaking leaves a lot to be desired.
I really need McGee to have a good game soon. Doesn’t have to be incredible, just need him to be good enough that I don’t ask “How is McGee better than Powell?”

People talking like this is the first win of a 4 game losing streak, whining about everything. Of the final four teams last year, Mavs have the 2nd best record (best point differential) while having the most turnover. It’s crazy that the expectation is mistake free basketball when they lost Brunson, have to integrate Wood and McGee, get THJ back, give Green more playing time, allow the starting lineup that got them to WCF to have time together, get Spence accustomed to a new role, give Hardy development time, figure out what to do with Powell, and allow Frank to come back from his toothache injury. People were calling for Kidd’s head like all that is resolved by “Start Wood, he good.” And even with all that, they have had leads in the 4th in all of their games, so a lot is working. Man, yall chill out lol.
All that said, McGee got to go.

Josh Green should play so much more, he is genuinely looking like a good player this season. Plus he is entertaining to watch as he is the only player who doesn’t sit around watching spencer/Luka dribble.
I have never felt for a player as much as I feel for C Wood right now. First 2 games he had a +30% usage, now he is barely touching the ball. He has made great improvements in his defence and it’s only been 6 games, yet Kidd clearly has something against him.
