  1. The great thing is that it absolutely looks sustainable. There’s been no crazy unsustainable run, he’s just playing under control

  2. He’s honestly not been balling out or anything, he seems to be playing well within himself. The only outlier I can recall was the Philly game where he was draining 3’s.

Otherwise it just seems like normal production.

  3. The wildest part is he didn’t even have that good of a game by his standards. His shot wasn’t falling, but he still made plays down the stretch and beasted his way to the line.

  4. Pascal has taken the JUMP and I honestly believe he will sustain it throughout the season 🔥

  5. Teams will game plan better for him as the season goes on and we still lack shooting so I’d expect his numbers to come down a bit. he’s doing such a great job operating around the ft line area and everything there is sustainable but it’s only a matter of time until we’re getting zoned constantly and forcing kickouts to subpar shooters especially with the bench on the floor

  6. He has taken the most shot attempts in the entire nba I believe. So yes, with that kind of usage and overall possessions I think so.

  7. Want to expand on this a little.

Is 3pt % is .387, this would be a career high but not by a ton. .37 or .36 is more in line with his career so I can see a little regression here but doubt it’s enough to have a real effect. Like 0.2 fewer 3pm per game.

His 2pt % is actually the lowest of his career though so you could see that tick up.

The fts are the big jump in scoring and he looks more apt at drawing the fouls on contact he was already receiving and getting a little more respect. No one can actually guard him 1v1 so he gets fouled a lot. Probably doesn’t change much in this category.

The play making is the real leap in skill. He makes the right read every play. Usually guys make a bit of a leap here then regress when defenses adjust. Siakam already went through that once and just reads the game at such a high level now I think this is sustainable.

So this is why I think it is sustainable. I do also think there is room for improvement.

He goes through some stretches where he defers or settles still, that next tier of player attacks a little more when he is a walking advantage. Instead of having stretches where he just wants to score and just wants to play make I think he can mix them together a bit more and let the play come to him. That would help him be a little more efficient. I also watch some games and think “no one can stop him tonight” and he ends with 26 when he’s playing like he should score 35. I personally think he’s a top 10 player right now but want to see a stretch where he puts up 35 in 3 straight games like the top guys do. He has that ability but can ease off the gas occasionally.
