From Sunday- Whats the FIRST thing that pops in your head?

  1. First thing in my head was WOW someone was afraid to throw in the middle after that interception.

    Second thing was “are the receivers BAD at getting open or is Carr just BAD at finding them??”

  2. I think our OL did a poor job giving Carr time, the Saints DBs did great in covering our WRs in that short time. Carr had to settle for short throws.

    A 100 yard game for Carr is not like him. The coaching needed to find a different way to beat the saints and they didn’t

  3. I think we need to buy some pass protection, same thing I’ve thought since we let Rodney and Gabe go.

  4. The Raiders offense should be killing it in the intermediate game, but it feels like we mostly haven’t this year. Throughout the year it’s felt like most passing plays are either deep shots or short passes.

    Passing game sucked against the Saints because:

    * Carr missing throws & not scrambling around
    * Davante not bringing in his targets and getting fucking blanketed by the guy filling in for Lattimore
    * Renfrow being invisible again
    * Dog shit pass blocking. Seemed like there was instant pressure on almost every passing snap. Even Stidham got fucking killed when he came in during garbage time
    * Lack of running game
    * Playcalling

  5. The story of the game to me was that one defense was able to cover and tackle, and the other was not. A lot of the QB hits/sacks seemed to be coverage sacks.

    Without watching film at all, just the games, I assume the problem is read progression. End of last season, Raiders didnt really have a deep threat thanks to Ruggs being an idiot. Zay was sort of the deep threat but not really. So a lot of the passes went to quick intermediate routes with Waller and Renfrow (and Zay) taking advantage of linebackers and small corners, and they excel at that. Obviously I don’t know how the read progressions were drawn up on those plays, but I assume Waller and Renfrow were high priority. Plus, traditionally, Gruden’s style of west coast offense priortizes quick intermediate routes.

    Well now the team has real outside threats with Adams and Hollins. Again, I dont know how the progressions are drawn up but I assume the outside guys are getting higher priority in the read progression in this offense. So when teams double Adams and play single high safety that leans toward the deep route, that might be taking away the first two reads. By the time Carr gets to his later reads, the OL has collapsed and he has a defender in his face.

  6. Play calling/ Coaching/ Players not comfortable in the scheme. McDaniels wants players to adapt to his scheme instead of creating a scheme for the talent he has on the field…

  7. Thoughts: Not all on Derek. Terrible stats of course but as a team we fucking stunk. And McDaniels always finds a way to ruin my Sundays.

  8. First thing I think is why aren’t we running more plays to the deep middle of the field? Maybe its Carr just not throwing there or maybe its McDoofy calling plays short of the line to gain. Either way we need to attack the middle and run in-breaking routes on every play with Renfrow, Waller and Adams the middle should be a focus of this offense. Plus if teams start to cheat safeties inside or corners we can open more outside running lanes for Jacobs, or big plays down the sideline for Hollins.

  9. The game plans are off. There is no in game adjustment, it’s 100% what josh calls no audible no changes! McDaniels has said this! That’s not Carr’s game he is best at west coast call 2 plays and audible to switch the play as the defense aligns. Carr has a fault he is to loyal to the game plan he will not defy the coach and change the play. Renfrow is back to his rookie season and can’t get open because of the route structure, he said so in post game interviews. The coach is failing he claim he cares about the players but he does not listen to what they do best and adjust his scheme to them! That’s what great coaches do

  10. Bottom Line, the infrastructure of the team is nonexistent! There is no foundation to build on. And there are players who think they are bigger than the team and are just sponging. Also, as long as Mark Davis is an owner this team will always be shit.

  11. Missed opportunities.
    That cluster of big plays to the left 3/4 of them should have been completed.
    Derek Missed on the big play to Cole on the right.

  12. Everything is along the LOS or sidelines. Why aren’t we working the middle and taking deep shots?
