  1. >Astros manager [Grady Hatton](https://www.baseball-reference.com/managers/hattogr01.shtml) put [Don Wilson](https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/w/wilsodo01.shtml) in the pitching rotation in 1967. On June 18 he pitched a [no-hitter against the Atlanta Braves at the Houston Astrodome, the first no-hitter at the two-year-old ballpark](https://sabr.org/gamesproj/game/june-18-1967-don-wilson-tosses-first-no-hitter-in-astrodome-history/), striking out 15 Braves in the process.
Wilson ended the game with a three-pitch strikeout of his boyhood idol, Hank Aaron.

    >In 1969 Wilson played a role in a rare achievement. On April 30 at Cincinnati, Reds pitcher Jim Maloney pitched a [no-hitter against the Astros](https://sabr.org/gamesproj/game/april-30-1969-reds-jim-maloney-fires-his-second-no-hitter/).
The next day, May 1, Wilson took the mound and [threw another no-hitter](https://sabr.org/gamesproj/game/may-1-1969-don-wilsons-no-hitter-is-astros-revenge-one-day-later/).
    >
    >It was the second time in major-league history that two teams exchanged no-hitters on successive days. (It had happened just the season before when [Gaylord Perry](https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/p/perryga01.shtml) of the San Francisco Giants and [Ray Washburn](https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/w/washbra01.shtml) of the St. Louis Cardinals did it on [September 17](https://sabr.org/gamesproj/game/september-17-1968-gaylord-perry-no-hits-cardinals-outduels-bob-gibson/) [and 18](https://sabr.org/gamesproj/game/september-18-1968-cardinals-ray-washburn-no-hits-the-giants/).)

    >>“There were a couple of times my legs were shaking so much I had to step off the mound,”
    Wilson said after the game.
    >>“I never wanted anything so bad in all my life as to pitch that no-hitter.”

    >He was alluding to bad blood between the teams after the Reds routed Wilson and the Astros, 14-0, nine days earlier.

Love the due diligence, bot! Better late than never!

  2. If the Astros win the World Series, I’m curious whether neutrals think he will be remembered as more of a Tigers player or Astros player.

In this hypothetical, he would have 6x ASGs, AL MVP, AL ROY, a Cy Young, and two no-hitters in 13 seasons with Detroit and (as of right now) 3x ASGs, 2x World Series, a Cy Young, and a no-hitter in six seasons with Houston.

  3. If you had the choice to invest a fuckton of money to popularize either Minor League Baseball or college baseball, which would you choose?

  4. Anyone reading this who’s having a bad day, You made as much money playing baseball this year as Michael Conforto did.

  5. Depression is eating away at me. Sports are supposed to be a getaway and this sub is making it so much worse
