Nate McMillan: “I like the way we played for 44 minutes.”
McMillan: “We found a way to win. I’d much rather correct these mistakes off a win.”
McMillan on Clint Capela: “That’s the Clint we need…. He was big all night long tonight, not only rebounding but defending the paint.”
McMillan said he thought Jalen Johnson “had a really good game” and “gave (the team) solid minutes coming off the bench tonight.”
McMillan said there are times that the Hawks are missing Collins when he has position on offense, but he said Collins stayed with it. Noted the big 3 late as an example.
McMillan was asked about Trae Young’s calf contusion.
“He’s a tough kid. Trae is about as tough as I’ve seen.”
McMillan on Trae Young: “If he can get out there and walk and move, he’s going to play. I’ve seen that since I’ve been here with Trae.”
Trae Young: “I’m getting beat up these last couple games… I’m alright though.” Said Zion landed on him wrong and he got the bruise/contusion on his calf, but says it’ll get better.
Trae Young complimented both Clint Capela and John Collins for how they played on defense and on the glass against the Pelicans frontcourt.

Nate: “These are the numbers we saw from Clint two years ago.” Said they need more of the same.
Nate said he switched the defensive assignments midgame for his bench bigs and put Jalen Johnson on Zion.
“I thought he did a really nice job of staying in front of him.”
Dejounte Murray, on the final possession of regulation
“Go get a bucket, really. That’s really how I felt. I got to my sweet spot, a spot I’m really familiar with, and like I said, I’m a guy who is really confident in myself, so if I miss a shot, I’m going to continue to shoot.”

  1. Huge CC night. Hate that we threw away a great game late in the 4th, but we pulled it out which is all that matters

  2. What y’all thinking about Trae Young defense tonight and this season? I’m loving it. Hawks are so much more well rounded except for poor shooting overall

  3. Most say Hunter is the x-factor but it’s really Clint. He can’t just pick and choose when to play this hard if we want a top 6 seed
