  1. Obviously I get the “LeBron hasn’t been here in 4 years we gotta move on” but it’s nice finally climbing the mountain and getting out of his shadow. And I do wonder if he regrets signing that extension even though he’s obviously trying to join his son when his son gets drafted

  2. I’d love to see old man Lebron come back in a few years and play a supporting role for another Cavs title. Storybook

  3. If LeBron really wanted to compete for another title he wouldn’t have signed that extension knowing that the roster they have is trash and nowhere even remotely close to competing for a title.

And honestly….how much better does he actually make this current Cavs team?

On paper, sure he fills arguably the biggest question mark at the 3, but it would also come with:

    * A high usage rate, taking away from Mitchell and Garland’s touches–thus slowing down down this juggernaut of an offense
    * He doesn’t play defense like he used to–so that’s not an improvement
    * Maybe he comes out of his 3 point shooting slump–but it’s been awful this year
    * And most importantly—this team has such a vibe to it, and this is the first non-LeBron contending team since the Price/Daugherty/Nance/Ehlo era.

I’ll forever appreciate LeBron bringing that Championship to Cleveland, but I’d rather this team have it’s own identity and not have LeBron a part of it.
