Realizing our garbage front office wasted 30 years of HOF QB play

  1. Realizing we’ve had multiple SB caliber teams and the players choked against inferior teams several times the last 30 years

  2. On one hand day drinking on Sunday’s will be more relaxing. On the other hand I feel bad for the taverns and other establishments that have Packer game day and draw a big crowd. Playoffs were bonus money for places, now they have to hope people will bother to even want to come out and watch.

  3. HOF regular season QB play, yes. HOF postseason QB play no.

    Can you blame the front office for all of Favre’s playoff disasters? 6 picks & 2 pic sixes against the Rams in 2001. His horrible game against the Falcon’s in 2002. Throwing a dumb interception at the end of the the 4th & 26 game in 2003. 4 pics in the first half against the Vikings in 2004. His dumb interception at the end of the game against the Giants in 2007.

    Rodgers, other than 2010, has never had a great postseason. He shit the bed in the 2019-2021 post seasons.

    The only years that we had HOF QB play in the postseason were 1996, 1997 and 2010.

  4. This is what happens when you belive a guy who says he wants another ring but then demands $50 mil a year so we can’t afford anyone good to put around him. Then listen to him complain about not having anyone around him. Then again he’s had plenty of weapons in the past and look where they got us. We got one ring and it’s been choke city after that

  5. Maybe the Packers should be bought out, Murphy doesn’t care they are still making money win or lose, you wasted one of the best quarterbacks in the nfl, I’m really thinking they don’t care

  6. I’ve never understood the “wasted 2 HoF QB” sentiment. I have enjoyed watching the Packers play football on Sundays for three decades. I almost never woke up on game day without hope for a Super Bowl. What am I missing? Bragging rights? I didn’t play on the team, I sat in the stands or on a couch and watched good football.

  7. As a Vikings fan I never understood this sentiment. I would gladly take 2 super bowls in 30 years over 0.

    “Haha your players are so good and you guys were only the best twice”

  8. Hardly wasted. The Packers have been good for 30 years, won 2 Super Bowls, and have been a top team. Appreciate what you’ve been able to watch and enjoy. Most fans would love to have this level of play for 30 years.

  9. Not really. AR12 simply chokes in big game situations. It’s all on him. Tom Brady never chokes. Aaron Rodgers is not that good.

  10. They didn’t waste anything. Both Favre and Rodgers had multiple SB calibre teams around them. Favre even had a chance on the Vikings.

  11. If this year feels different to you than the first three years of the LaFleur era – if you’re tired of watching crappy football, and seeing 10 ‘wish we didn’t draft Jordan Love’ threads every week, and infighting between the Rodgers defenders and the Rodgers critics – then the last 30 years of QB play didn’t go to ‘waste’.

    For the bulk of my lifetime as a Packers fan, I’ve gone into the season thinking we had a legitimate shot of winning a Super Bowl, and I’ve gone into each week thinking we had a pretty damn good shot of winning. That’s true for almost everyone here, too. Sure, it sucks that the team didn’t go further the last two years, or that there were structural problems in some of the other teams. But it’s the absolute height of delusion to pretend that you haven’t had a ton of fun watching an entertainment-based activity for years and years and years. (And if you haven’t had fun watching football the last few years, I hope you step away from the game for your own emotional wellness.)

  12. List of teams that have two or more Super Bowls since Brett Farve joined the Packers:

    * Patriots (6)
    * Broncos (3)
    * Cowboys (3)
    * Rams (2)
    * Buccaneers (2)
    * Ravens (2)
    * NY Giants (2)
    * Steelers (2)

    That’s only a handful of teams. The Packers have been one of the most consistently great teams in the NFL and are/were Super Bowl contenders year in and year out. Nearly every single NFL team envys the Green Bay Packers’ success. Should/could the Packers have more Super Bowls? Sure, but the Farve/Rodgers era was not wasted at all.

  13. 2 superbowls is more than majority of franchises have so not a complete waste. Winning in the NFL is tough, Brady just made it look easy

  14. Fuck that. 34 year old here, they have been awesome years. Only two rings, but still has been fuckin dope.

  15. Some of ya’ll need to realize that you can criticize the team and still be a fan

    I’m not old enough to remember the prime Favre years. But as far as Aaron goes…without him we would have been mediocre this entire time. Consistently terrible coaching and questionable play calling, ATROCIOUS defenses and special teams play. And extremely non aggressive, lackadaisical FO moves. We’ve never been willing to make big trades for stars or to move up in the draft and grab studs. We’re always drafting project players and depth pieces, always so worried about remaining pretty good in the future, that we never try to be GREAT now.

    Stellar Qb play has masked so many deficiencies in this team over the years. Its definitely allowed a lot of people to keep their jobs A LOT longer than they had any right to keep them. I’m honestly looking forward to Aaron leaving so people will be forced to acknowledge the fundamental flaws in the way we do business as an organization. People are just so god damn complacent with being pretty good and not making the extra step to be great. AM I CRAZY PEOPLE OR IS THE WHOLE POINT HERE TO WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS?!?! Nobody is going to look back on the Rodgers era and brag about all those playoffs we went to and lost, only championship teams get remembered.

  16. It’s outrageous, man. We’ve had a top 1-5 QB in the NFL since I was in grade ten, and I’m closer to retirement than high school now. Two super bowls is great, but it coulda been more.

  17. This fanbase sometimes man…would it have been cool to have won more with those two guys? Of course. But at the end of the day we got two championships out of it and have been consistent playoff contenders. There are many franchises whose fans go a whole lifetime never seeing their team win even one. Hell, those two super bowls are more than the rest of our division combined has seen in their entire histories. So ya, wish we won more but if I never see another one before I die, I’ll be happy. It would be miserable being bummed out about seeing multiple championships

  18. 2 Super Bowls were won in those 30 years. 9 teams have multiple Super Bowl wins in those 30 years. 12 teams have never won a Super Bowl and 4 have never even played in one. We have seen a lot of winning in these past 30 years. There are 23 teams that would gladly trade our last 30 years for theirs. This season is rough and it could be rough for awhile but don’t disparage what has been an amazing run for this franchise.

  19. This just makes me secretly pray Jordan Love is the 3rd Coming even more.

    Rodgers retires, and the sub erupts.

    Jordan Love, as if gifted by the football gods, looks *terrifying* his second-third official season under center.

    Won’t happen, but a man can dream
