  1. Why would Cash give away a Gold Glove SS/3B and not get any top prospects back in return?

  2. Donaldson 25m + Hicks 10m + IKF (projected) 6m = 41m

    Rendon 35m + Trout 35m + Ohtani 30m = 100m

We would be spending 2.5x as much but getting that much more production. This really shows the issue with the Yankees isn’t necesarily not spending money but rather spending it on incredibly stupid shit like Josh Donaldson or Aaron Hicks. You can’t let Hicks IKF and Donaldson take up a quarter of the Luxury Tax threshold and seriously expect to win a World Series.

  3. That Rendon contract is truly horrible, probably going down as one of the worst contracts ever

  4. It’s a little one sided… I think we should get at least one more player to be named later

  5. It’s actually be an interesting idea to try to figure out how cheap you could get Trout by also taking on Rendon’s contract

  6. If people think having Donaldson at $25 mil for 2 years was bad, wait til we have Rendon at $35 for 4. Dude hasn’t produced since juice ball ’19.

This trade would ultimately mean that we aren’t going after Judge.

As much as I hate Donaldson, Hicks, and IKF, this isn’t the move IMO.

  7. This is a GMS move when you dont give a shit about the money. I’d do this move any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Yankees would never do it and I’m not sure Anaheim would have the cajones to do it either. Does Trout have an NTC or is 10 and 5?

Edit: Trout is 10 and 5, he would probably put the kibosh on this

  8. Playing for as long as he has in a fair weather environment in Anaheim, I’m gonna say Trout doesn’t like to hear jeers and won’t accept a deal to the east side. In fact, it’s been reported he likes playing on the west coast away from the media frenzy. SoCal is a Dodgers town with the Lakers, Raiders, Rams, clippers, kings, USC and UCLA sports programs right in line before seeing the Angels.
