Let’s get hyped about Jonathan Kuminga

Kuminga is a gifted athlete that will space the floor and give us better looks for our snipers. He is a dangerous foul magnet around the paint. Give him some slack he is hardly 20 years old. He played some great mins pre-season as a facilitator. The fact he can quickly flush the ball keeps the opposing defense honest. Also a solid defender with good length and quick lateral movement. So let’s get hyped for him breaking out this season.

  1. I feel like some of you guys are so obsessed with athleticism, when our hall of Fame championship core isn’t even really that athletic at all. Give me good bbiq and basketball skill over athleticism any day

  2. The things he does are great. The problem is the things he doesn’t do… which is normal, that’s how all raw prospects are.

Right now he has a 8.3 TRB% and 1-7 3PT in 103 min. Those are the most important areas for fitting into lineups. If you can rebound, you can play center. If you can shoot, you can play small forward.

  3. As long as he defending well that’s all that matters. I really don’t care for his offense at all. If he gives us a few points, fine, but he seems pretty disorganized offensively

  4. He just needs to say engaged. Iggy said it best he’s hard headed but needs to realized if you don’t try you’re going to get cooked and benched.

  5. I’ve been hyped! That’s why watching him eat DNP’s while Wise tanks games has been infuriating

  6. Last time I got “hyped” for JK he was an enormous disappointment (NBA playoffs). Then I got “hyped” for him in the summer league coming into the season and he’s been borderline unplayable.

So I’ll wait to see if he can actually apply some BBIQ and Warriors basketball to go away from hero ball and actually be an asset to this team before I get “hyped” again.

  7. I am hyped – but not by his floor spacing. He’s hit only 1 3pt this year as far as I recall.
