Marner went to go defend the referee what kind of defending was that
2-0-1 on a difficult, 3 game schedule. I’ll take it, but this was such a winnable game. Too many boneheaded plays down the stretch

Kallgren played amazing had it not been for 4 turnovers/breakaways by the Leafs.

Honestly, a pretty solid 60 minutes that you should win but a few too many miscues kept Vegas in it.
That OT though was abysmal.

Turnover after Turnover. The same little mistakes that we talk about changing but never do.
blow a 3rd period lead by giving up a shorty then lose on the first shift in OT… sounds like the Leafs.
Honestly fine with an OTL. Frustrating how it happened but ill take 5/6 over the last three games. Mo really needs to learn how to play 2 on 1s better though
Dominate the game from the second period onwards but lost it due to transition chances.
Kinda a flip of the last game where they were dominated the entire game but won purely on transition offense.
It’s kind of the glaring weakness of the team going back to the Montreal series. The Leafs have a slower defense than most teams – Rielly is probably the only skater that isn’t slow, so they are more suseptible to teams with good transition offenses. Tampa Game 7 last year, the Montreal series – all but 1 of their goals came off transition, this game, Pittsburgh 7-1 loss from last year.
Mistakes cost us 2 points
But I’m not shedding a tear taking 5 of 6 points from the last 3 games against tough opponents
Sheldon Keefe cannot play engvall one second less than Nylander or kampf 44 seconds more at 5on5. Nylander was at a 72% xgf%, engvall was at 15%, kampf at 10.
I thought we looked like the better team for long stretches tonight, but the Buds seem consistently confounded and out of position in 3-on-3.

Still very early, but I think there will be a genuine debate by the end of the year as to whether Lily is our best D
Made way too many mistakes tonight. Every mistake ended up in the back of the net. Gave up like 5 breakaways. Really cool that they fell asleep in OT though. On to the next.
3 on 3? Better get rid of the puck as soon as possible. Everyone knows that’s the best 3 on 3 strategy

Any idea what’s going on with matthews? Doesn’t seem himself. Obviously still playing at a high level, but something seems off with his play.
Felt like a pretty good game but four stupid mistakes and Vegas capitalizes on all of them. The Rielly 2-on-1 is unacceptable for an NHL defenceman imo. TWO passes going through. Kallgren got hung out to dry
That OT shift by Marner was a dumpster fire.
Good game against a tough team, but man I’d like to see the offence pick up. Only one game so far this year with more than 3 goals (not including the empty net Winnipeg game).
5 points in 3 games against 3 top teams in 4 nights … can’t really complain. Leafs played okay tonight but really stink in OT.

Good game. Felt we should’ve had that one but we just played prior two of the toughest teams in the league and we still got a point out of it. We’re looking way better out there, an improvement from the earlier games in the season for sure

When you get first possession in OT, your best people simply have to do more.
