  1. Well he didn’t put himself up there the interviewer did even tho Durant does deserve to be there imo. Only guy missing I’d argue is dr J. I’d have him over kawhi personally

  2. Shows how far Kawhi has come. KD once called him a system player and now he’s on KD’s small forward Mt. Rushmore.

  3. I was just watching some Larry Bird highlights and that guy was a baller. He didn’t seem like the most athletic but he was always one move or two ahead of everyone. Insane basketball IQ.

  4. I really wonder what type of player kawhi will be remembered as when he’s done. His career is hard to gauge but his peer’s always seem to have the upmost respect for his game. At his peak u can argue he’s one of greatest 2 way players of all time.

  5. Forever grateful for Kawhi but I dont think he belongs on this list. At his peak he can and showed that he can be the best player in the NBA but the problem is he just doesn’t play enough games to validate it all. Theres just a lot of recency bias, and you can argue nostalgia bias for Dr.J but availability has to be looked at

  6. No love for Scottie Pippen? A do it all SF who had individual & team success (being one of the best “Robin” to a player’s “Batman” & help leading the Trail Blazers to WCF or West semis idr when the series was against the Shaq & Kobe lakers)

  7. Kawhi can matchup against any player ever in his prime (in terms of value added). His longevity holds his overall career back tho

  8. Larry and Lebron are a Mt Rushmore above KD. Just not the same. If khawhi weren’t injury prone then he would be neck and neck to KD.

  9. Kawhi is a little overrated huh? Don’t get me wrong he’s incredible and deserves to be in the discussion but over Dr J? Baylor? Even Pippen has an argument. Peak Kawhi was incredible but that Toronto team was rock solid and complimented him almost perfectly. On top of that like it or not, longevity has to be a part of the argument and Kawhi has basically missed 2 (soon to be 3?) full seasons.

The thing with Kawhi is that historically he gets all the credit when things go well, but none of the blame when it goes south (look at the bubble with pandemic P, despite Kawhi being arguably just as bad). That’s starting to change (especially in regards to his injury history) but this thread proves that’s not totally gone yet.

  10. People are going to say Kawhi doesn’t belong here. I get why people say that and I don’t have any problem them leaving him off.

But in terms of talent at his peak and post season performance the man absolutely deserves a spot, he’s a top 10 all time talent, just with a really strange career
