Kinda feels like we’ve been on this carousel where we’re always hearing about the hot new goaltender of the future, but then we wait until they’re 23, give them two seasons, and then let them walk in the offseason.
The second goalie off the draft board in 2017 is starting games in Rochester right now. He looked pretty good in preseason. In fact, when called up in periods of crisis in each of the prior two seasons he’s looked pretty good.
It’s time. Maybe it has come earlier than expected but, it’s time.
