  1. That’s how you regroup after a bad period. Finish with two fantastic ones.

I didn’t even read a single comment in the GDT tn because I can’t stand to read all the reactionary bullshit. I’m sure half the boneheads gave us the L. Well, how do you like them apples? 🤷‍♂️

Also, Källgren had a tremendous stop at the end of the 1st when it was already 2-0. I was thinking to myself how huge that was. And, damn, was it ever.

  2. This one was for Börje.

Glad the Leafs could pull it together after being down two goals after the first period and give Salming a something to cheer about.

Benn had a solid game, especially offensively. Also have to give credit to Engvall, he was on his horse (er, giraffe) all game in the O zone. Kallgren also had another good game on back-to-back nights.

Rematch against the Pens on Tuesday. I’m expecting to see a different goaltender for the Leafs.

  3. Why are the Canucks such a broken team? I didn’t know Boeser hasn’t scored a goal yet this season…

  4. Glad we won for Borje. You could tell the boys wanted to get JT the empty net though and it made me a little nervous at the end lol

  5. Good stuff. Kallgren needed that. Never like seeing a young goalie as down on himself, good or bad play, as we have Kallgren lately. Not good for the player, not good for the team.

  6. It’s embarrassing reading the comments during the game when this team is playing like shit. People go from one extreme to the other so quickly. Fans need to relax and take a breath.

  7. As a Leafs fan who used to think of the Canucks as his second team until moving to Vancouver and getting spat at by Canucks fans when the Leafs visited last year, this one feels GOOD.

  8. Did they do anything special for Mikheyev’s first game back? Probably not – just curious where the threshold is for returning leafs…

  9. Definitely a game they can build on, arguably best they looked on O all year. Matthews with a vintage finish

  10. Few take always from tonight’s game:

The refs were terrible, and for once the Leafs win when that happens.🤯

Mikyehev didn’t score, when was the last time an ex Leaf didn’t score on the team in their return to Toronto.

Jordie Benn is a Toronto Maple Leaf.

  11. Our offensive chemistry still feels way off (bad passes, whiffing on shots, missing the net an insane amount), but it was nice to see a few good moments from Robertson and seeing Sandin on his natural side. One game at a time!

  12. Wait, did the Leafs actually win a game they were supposed to on a night where they were honouring someone?

Nice comeback win though and great to see Benn get the winner in his first game with the team.

  13. BENN had that SALMING energy tonight; scoring, big hits, blocks, wrestling fools down to the ice. What a monster.

Engvall redemption tonight, found his role. He should be a full time center. Big game for the Giraffe.

Roberston and Jarnkrok looking tenacious and created a lot of chances and Nicky Bobby really looked like a threat tonight.

Holl with some big defensive plays tonight. You love to see it.

Top guys brought it in the 2nd & 3rd period. Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander. Amazing Performance.

Kerfoot looked really bad tonight, lost on the ice and getting bodied didn’t help his game. Needs to find a role.

ZAR taking needless penalties didn’t help to protect the lead, otherwise was effective.

  14. Benn needs to stay in the lineup. One of the few DMen that actually plays with some sandpaper and looked pretty good defensively. Who does he take out?

  15. Glad the Leafs were able to pull off a comeback win for Salming and Keefe starting all the Swedes was a nice little touch to honour him.

Now Jordie Benn what a game!

  16. Definitely played a solid 2 periods after the 1st, but this team really needs to get their offense going.

  17. Engvall’s best game in the NHL. Nylander looks great. Those three shifts in a row when we hemmed them in were great. Forechecking was on point, after the bad first period.

  18. Matthews PP goal was where he’s always most dangerous. I don’t know why they move him away from that spot

  19. – sloppy game all around and barely scraped by against one of the most abysmal teams in the league

    – Benn was a bright spot in the game so expect him to be in the press box next game in favor of Holl and Sandin

    – nice to see Engvall do something other than skate around around

    – Kerfoot looked awful tonight and lost on almost every play

    – our top 2 lines are in a world of hurt. Vancouvers defense and defensive structure is non existent and they still couldn’t find a rhythm
