At least Rooney isn’t playing… Lucic over Huberdeau is baffling though, especially when we barely saw Kadri and Huberdeau.
People act like Sutter isn’t going to be playing lines 5v5 pretty equally. Line 3 and line 1 aren’t really all that different for Sutter
I think it’s about establishing a bit of balance on each line. It would be powerful if each line had scoring potential and come at the opposition in waves of forechecking.
Listen I love Sutter. But what the hell are you doing mate? This isn’t doing anything. Lucic does well on the fourth line, so keep him on the fourth line. Huberdeau is coming back from injury and struggling to adjust to this new team, so you demote him and play him third line? What does that solve?
Just win. I don’t really give a shit what the lines look like as long as it produces results. 5on5 icetime is pretty even in the top 9, so listing lines 1-3 doesn’t mean anything
I love Lucic but at this stage of his career he’s a fourth liner that should spending 1 in 4 games in the press box.
Huberdeau is the only one that’s strange to me. He’s a playmaker and he needs guys that can finish. Let’s be honest, when we get all about guys playing better we’re talking about production, and that isn’t going to happen when Huberdeau is on the 3rd line.
