  1. this will probably help his development. they feel like they can’t play him at the nba level yet so this is the correct thing to do.

  2. Good. He looked rusty from the DNPs, and he needs to gain his confidence back. Can’t develop him from the bench

  3. Shoot, I remember when Thabeet got sent down by the Grizzlies back in 2010. For those who don’t know who Thabeet is, he was the second overall pick in the 2009 draft, ahead of guys like Harden and Curry. Thabeet’s defensive skills never translated into the NBA. And never developed offensively. An all-time draft bust.

  4. This is great news. He’s played 50 games in 3 years. He needs to get reps and get a feel of game speed again. Love it for him.

  5. Tbh, I don’t really know why teams don’t do this more often with their bench guys. Especially their important young guys.

If your first round pick is just riding the bench and playing junk minutes for more than a couple weeks, send them to the G League to go play 35 mins and dominate for a bit, then bring them back when you are actually ready to play them.

  6. He played like 40 games his rookie season and then missed an entire year. He’s essentially still a rookie. All their young guys have barley played nba basketball.

  7. If Wiseman approaches this with the right attitude it’s gonna be a big boost for his career. He needs consistent reps badly, and he’s nowhere close to good enough to play rotation mins on the Warriors right now.

  8. Sending some of our players to the g league sped up their development a ton. I would hate to be a warriors rookie with the amount of pressure coming from outsiders and casual fans. He has almost zero support

  9. Didn’t Kuminga light up the G-league when he was on Ignite? There’s no shame about the G-league, especially when Wise needs reps to get his hands solid enough and to get his conditioning up.

  10. James Wiseman is a bust. Happens with big men because of the athleticism and the allure of “we can just teach him to defend, set screens, have high bbiq and not clog the lane”.

    He’s a bust.

  11. too many people trying to cope with all the “give him time” speech, there’s more chance for him to never play in the NBA again than to become what you expect out of a number 2 overall pick
