49ers-backed Santa Clara mayoral candidate loses despite 8-1 fundraising advantage

> The San Francisco 49ers spent $2.5 million on Santa Clara’s mayoral race this year in the hopes that City Councilmember Anthony Becker would unseat incumbent Mayor Lisa Gillmor, who raised approximately $321,000 to her name.
I wonder if that money could’ve gone to someone’s contract.
No idea about the candidates but glad to see money didn’t buy the mayor seat. There should be a cap on how much people and companies/organizations can donate.

I feel for the people of Santa Clara, but every other city in the bay area knew this was going to be a bad deal.
I think the Mayor Nailed it with
“I thank Santa Clarans who gave me their vote and sent a message that our city is not for sale,”
She is the Mayor of Santa Clara (Where My mom lives) not the puppet of the football team
How does this affect Deebo’s legacy?
Does this mean the team will be moving back to SF proper?

I know Jed’s worked his way back into the good graces of fans with regards to on-field affairs, but him trying to basically buy the City Council has been a scummy-as-hell maneuver that’s been going on for years now.
Niner’s stadium should be by Oracle Park. Anyone here a billionaire?
