  1. Only lost because of a missed icing. This hawks team is not that great of a team at all but this is the rare occasion where I will actually blame the refs. Sorry but you can’t interfere with a lane to the puck and stop skating on an icing. That negates the icing and is interference especially considering Athanasiou would have beaten him to the puck cleanly. Stupid call.

    * Malkin played his 1000th NHL game tonight.
    * McGinn beat McCabe and scored just over a minute into the game.

    * The 5 F PP unit allowed a couple short-handed chances the other way.
    * Malkin scored on a rush. Poehling skated around the net and passed to Malkin in the slot.
    * Rakell scored on a one-timer.
    * Khaira scored a tap-in off a pass from Dickinson.
    * Kane scored from Toews at 4-on-4.
    * Kurashev threw a puck from a bad angle and it bounced off DeSmith and in.
    * Crosby scored his first career goal in Chicago, beating C. Jones and gathering his own rebound.
    * For the second time this season, the Hawks outshot their opponent. The Blackhawks out-shot Detroit 29-28 in a 4-3 win on Oct 21.
