  1. We shall see if they drop the protection on the pick for us. It would help us get closer to Wemby.

  2. The pick is only valuable with no protection. If the Lakers want to value shop then we’re the last team they should call.

  3. So give up 2 rotational players for a pick somewhere in the 20’s?

Also save the other team a lot of money?

If that’s the offer. You’re better off just having the veterans on the team. We’re losing anyways.

  4. They didn’t reject the trade. The countered the Lakers to make the protected first a unprotected pick which is more than reasonable and the Lakers stalled talks.

The Spurs should be commended. They’re taking on Westbrooks salary (just for him to get waived) and giving up two players that the Lakers will probably find useful. Last I checked the Spurs where one of two teams that have the cap space to take on Westbrooks salary.

  5. Honestly, a lottery protected pic for this Lakers team is pretty worthless. I don’t see any reasonable reason to expect them to be a playoff lock for the next few seasons. If they want to drop that protection to top five I would take it at this point. But if not, San Antonio is doing their due diligence and not rushing into the first relatively mediocre offer they get.

  6. No lol. That’s a ridiculous offer. Lakers could very likely be a lottery team in 2025 so they were basically trying to fill their need for 3 point shooting, and get off Westbrook’s contract, for nothing.
