I’m not sure about underrated. He was highly regarded as a backup in New York, he just wanted to be a starter and how could they give him that opportunity with the number one goalie in the league in front of him?
I love that this guy gets his opportunity.
Rangers are my second team. When we picked him up I knew he’d be good. I love Kuemps but I have more confidence with Georgie in net.
I feel so comfortable when Georgie’s in net. He’s a very calm goaltender. Imo he’s the best goalie I’ve ever seen play for the Avs (was just a little kid when Roy played so that’s why). But between varlamov, grub, and kuemps Georgie just has a feel to his game that feels more sustainable to me.
Those other guys could steal games if they were on. Some more than others. But they had so many nights where you were like, “damn I guess it’s one of those games huh”
We’ll see how it goes from here, but I’m loving the Georgie train right now
Maybe it’s just because Darcy had kind of a rough playoffs in the net but I feel like we upgraded with Georgiev.
